INTRODUCTION
The issue of privacy has been debated often as computers
and the Internet have become more and more integrated into our society.
The Internet has the capability to hold information of all and any sort
about any random person in the world. It makes information like health
records, addresses, credit history, dental records, education history, or
anything else imaginable about a person's life. Sometimes such
information can be helpful and relevant, sometimes damgaging and
dangerous. This project will look at the various ways that privacy has
been invaded by the computer. It will discuss whether privacy is
important in today's society, the benefits and deterrents such a privacy
invasion causes, a worse-case scenario of how the computer could effect
our private lives in the near-future, and, finally, a conclusion that will
bring it all together.
