Carly Fiorina - Running for Senator in California

Fiorina targets readers who are ready for a change in California, as she continues to note she is very different (conservative) from her liberal candidate, Barbara Boxer. Judging by her website, Fiorina also wants her readers to be informed about her stance on issues. Her website states via text and videos many of Fiorina's concerns about issues and what she plans to do if elected. Fiorina also wants her readers to get to know her. The videos on Fiorina's website help the reader connect with her, as she shares personal things in her life.
Barbara Boxer - Incumbent Senator in California

On Boxer's website, she emphasizes her many accomplishments, awards and honors (dating back to 1992). It is assumed that she wants her readers to know about her many years of experiences in hopes that they would re-elect her again. By her website, it is assumed that Boxer's readers are well-informed (see Boxer speaking to the Senate floor) and active in political issues. Boxer gives her readers a poll on her home page about their concerns, as well as giving readers an opportunity to schedule a meeting with her and her office. She also gives readers the opportunity to do a "Boxer Internship". If readers want to know a personal side of Boxer, they will not find it on her website.
