"Untitled"

by Tom Howard

The basic idea of this world is one of magic and gods.  The time of sleep and treaty has passed, and the pettiness of the gods has returned in full force, though with a new twist: technology.  Through the medium of the internet and other such technological advances, new gods have arisen in their absence, the cyber-pantheon.  At the head of it is a spider which crawls the webs of the electrical world, Desso, controlling this domain but barred from any other.  Many of the Egyptian gods have returned,  many European gods,  American Indian and Asian gods have all returned as well.

Lord Rayden of the Asian areas has returned and gone into direct competition with the cyber-pantheon.  His reign over electricity allowing him to firewall many things as long as he is aware of them.  However he is easily duped by false information strings created by Desso and his cohorts.  This is the primary link.  Set is also in action causing strange virus’ with which he plans to destroy the logical techno-patterns and restore the former beauty of the world.  The true battle lies here, in Desso’s land.

On the physical plane Christ, Krishna, a new Pharoe, Lilith’s incarna, Gaia’s incarna (American Indian), Aphrodite and Hera’s incarna, an Druidic incarna similar to Merlin, Desso’s cyber punk legions, and the Shao-Lin monks all battle over sway of the mortal populace.  The incarnas all have strong followings by this time, and are all teaching the powers of their pantheon.  There will be sub-characters that drift in, but these people will be the center of it.

The primary battle, as aformentioned, will be over “cyber-turf,” but the battle over minions, will be a close second.  The last subplot will be the race to awakening of the other gods.  Some still have not yet awoken, and by awakening other gods the gods hope to earn the newly awoken’s debt and thus an allie in the war.

It would really make a much better ongoing series, but these will be the early days in fair detail: the forming of alliances and the initial politics as well as the actual reawakening process of the gods who had slept while Desso was growing, unbound by the treaty that she did not sign.  It will then cover the process of recovery until “The New Age of Man” is reached.  The story will take place 2000 years after Rome was given up on, 2180 AD.  This was the time when the gods finally decided that they may be doing more harm than good, and went into hibernation to see if that were true.  After 2000 years they return to learn that in fact faith is nearly dead in gods, and it is  time to  return to their original posts and guide sociedy on its way to enlightenment.  It will be a very grim scene initially, and progressively get better over the course of the story until we have a new Age of Spiritual Enlightenment.
