Problem #12

Fred is a 59 year old white male who has been admitted to the cardiac care unit. Yesterday as he dressed for work he experienced persistent pain in his left arm. He was transported by ambulance to the emergency room where he was diagnosed with acute myocardial infarction.

Subjective:

Fred reports that he is very involved in his own business operations, finds little time for outside activity, and smokes approximately 3 packs of cigarettes per week.

Objective:

Appearance: pleasant, conversant man who is overweight

Vital signs: HR 90, BP 103/90 at rest in hospital bed; after ambulating 50' to bathroom and back to bed HR is 100 and BP 90/60

ROM: grossly WNL throughout trunk and extremities
