Louise describes herself as a frail older woman who fell and broke her hip. She had a right total hip replacement yesterday and is now referred to you for physical therapy. Louise desires to return to her own condominium; however, her family is uncertain if this will be immediately possible. They ask you if Medicare will cover a stay in an extended care facility.

Subjective:

• Louise reports her physician has added a calcium supplement to her daily medications.
• Louise reports that she really does not care for cryotherapy and wants to know why she can't have a heating pad on her incision site.

Objective:

• Strength: Bilateral UEs: Fair+, Left LE: Fair +, Right LE: Poor hip, Fair knee, Fair+ ankle.
• Cognition: appears oriented x 3
• Sensation: grossly intact all in extremities
