Problem #2
Sarah is a 10 YO Down's
child who presents in the clinic with increased instability during gait.
It is noticed that Sarah has difficulty following the clinic routine which
requires observation of rules/limits. Sarah's mother reports that this is
a problem at home also. Sarah's mother asks you if a tumbling class is indicated
for Sarah's clumsiness and low endurance.
Subjective:
- -Sarah reports that her feet hurt
- -Sarah also reports that her neck hurts sometimes
- -Sarah's mother reports increased problem with balance loss
- -Sarah attends the local elementary school
Objective:
- -Sarah is obese
- -Sarah displays flat feet bilaterally
- -Sarah has F to F+ trunk strength
- -Sarah demonstrated F+ extremity strength
- -Sarah is unable to run 100 feet x 2 without becoming SOB
- -Sarah maintains unilateral stance 3 secs. R, 2 secs. L
