INTRODUCTION
In our fast-paced society, computers are becoming
completely integrated into every aspect of our lives. Everything seems to
be stored in a database somewhere and the easy availability to these
files is ever increasing at a tremendous speed. In a world where a
file can be downloaded and transferred in a matter of minutes, it's
scarey to think how much of your life someone can get a hold of. Piece
by piece, people can put together your life through insurance
documents, employee records, traffic violation reports, health care
records, etc. Information on our personal lives has become one of the
hottest items on the market today and the government has not been reacting
to the changes which create such easy access to information. In this
report, I will be focusing on these issues and relating them to two
theories which we have discussed in class, Utilitarian and Kant.
