This page is designed to provide some introductory information on careers that Health Sciences majors might be interested in exploring.  Please note that Bradley University does not offer degrees in all of the professions mentioned on this page.

Job Outlook Projections According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics health care services will account for almost one-fifth of all job growth from 1994 to 2005.    The 1996 -1997 Occupational Outlook Handbook produced by the US Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics provides an insight into careers in health care. The Handbook gives information on what workers do on the job, working conditions, the training and education needed, earnings, and expected job prospects in a variety of occupations. You might want to begin your search by logging on to some of the on-line job databases such as Monster Board:US or for a more world-wide job search use their Monster Board:International. Some other good job databases you might scan are E Span and also Career Mosaic plus Intellimatch and HeadHunter.NET.

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs CAAHEP accredits programs representing 18 allied health professions.  Their site offers some good introductory information on a variety of health-related professions.

This site is geared towards the practicing dentist, however, it is still a useful resource for information on current issues in the dental field.
